Masking tools
They work together with the red mask
and are available in Subject Edit Mode only.

The "Auto"
checkbox enables the red mask actions. When checked, the red mask will
be applied automatically for the current selection.
If "Auto" is unchecked, then the standard copy/cut/paste editing method
could be used.

"Magic
background cleaner"
Works fine if the subject is in front of a nearly uniform
background, like a blue or green curtain.
Move the mouse over the background: The background color will change.
Click when it looks good. This will update the selection and apply the
red mask if "Auto" is checked.
A context menu (right click) allows setting Tolerance.
The images to the right show a nose on a blue background with the mouse
over the background, and the nose without background after clicking. |

Click and drag
to draw a rectangular selection. Use Shift for square.

to draw an elliptical selection. Use Shift for circle.

times to define selection segments. Press ESC to cancel or Enter to
close the contour.

selection:

Feathering determines how selection contours will be processed to
produce a smooth image.
The images to the right show no feathering and maximum feathering. The
default value is 1px.
